RC Cars

Experience the thrills and spills of head-to-head racing with your RC car or truck. It doesn't need to be a Mini, any make or model will be allowed. Cars will be divided into three categories based on their performance potential. The course will be set up in the parking lot Friday, and will be available for test runs and practice throughout the day Friday and Saturday. The heat races will be held on Saturday afternoon; check at the registration desk for times. Kids are welcome to compete, and prizes will be awarded. Even if you're not racing, be sure to check out this fun event as a spectator. Who knows, maybe you'll get a ride in someone else's car.

Tentatively, the three classes are as follows:

Toy : Pretty much anything that runs on standard package batteries, like Tyco Canned Heat and the MINI Cooper.
Poser: Two wheel drive hobby store RC kits with stock electric motors. Some hop-ups allowed, but no race tires.
Pro : “Run what ya brung” gas cars and trucks, four wheel drive cars and trucks, two wheel drive kits with high-performance motors, two-speed transmissions, multiple battery packs, sticky race tires, and whatever else doesn't fit into the other categories.
